SHUCKLAND       Introduction        Alphabetical List of Locations
Location: North Walsham, NORFOLK
Encounter: A man taking a walk along Back Street felt that he was being watched, and turned to see a big black dog with red eyes, that was staring at him. Feeling uncomfortable, he first tried to shoo the dog away. When this failed he tried to kick it, but his foot went through it.
Place Name: Walsham - OE 'Walh's' or 'Wæl's village'.
Comments: Back Street used to run diagonally NW-SE from Mundesley Road to Vicarage Street, but in the late 1980's was demolished to make way for a car park, now bounded on two sides by North Street. The centre of Back Street was at approx. TG283303.
